Minister: Türkiye's defence industry reaches new heights of success

22 October 2024 21:18

Türkiye has successfully addressed its own security needs while establishing itself as a significant player in the international defence market.

This development was highlighted by Türkiye's Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, at the International Defence, Aviation, and Space Industry Exhibition SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

Güler emphasized that the exhibition ranks among the largest industrial initiatives in both Türkiye and Europe. He remarked that the meetings and agreements forged during the event will bolster strategic cooperation among participating nations.

He pointed out that the current geopolitical landscape, characterized by tensions and conflicts, underscores the necessity of a robust defence industry and the capability for independent action. In recent years, Türkiye has made considerable strides, particularly within the defence sector. The systems developed in Türkiye, especially air and naval platforms, are garnering international attention and providing a competitive advantage on the global stage.

Güler expressed confidence that Türkiye's standing in this sector will be further enhanced through the execution of projects spanning land, sea, air, and space in the near future.

The SAHA EXPO 2024, an international exhibition dedicated to the defence, aviation, and space industries, opened its doors in Istanbul on October 22.

This year’s exhibition expects participation from more than 1,478 companies from 120 countries, along with 178 foreign delegations and 312 official delegations, including 25 ministers.
