Ministry: Russia shoots down 18 Ukrainian drones over four regions
The Russian Defence Ministry has announced that the air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 11 Ukrainian drones over the Rostov region on October 20.
Four more drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, two drones over the Kursk region, and one drone over the Oryol region, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Russian air defence systems successfully destroyed two Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the Belgorod region on October 15. A third drone was shot down over the Voronezh region. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
On October 16, officials in Kyiv reported that Russia launched a drone attack on the Ukrainian capital. No information has been provided regarding potential casualties or the extent of damage caused by the strike.
In response, Ukraine carried out a series of drone attacks on Russia’s southern Belgorod region. Governor of Belgorod Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed that at least eight people were injured, with damage inflicted on vehicles and property.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities have ordered a mandatory evacuation of the towns of Kupiansk and Borova in the northeastern Kharkiv region due to advancing Russian forces.
The evacuation was confirmed by Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov, who stated that the decision was taken to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
