05 May 2026 10:12
A missile alert was issued for the first time in Russia's Khanty-Mansi Autonomous region, a remote region located nearly 2,000 kilometres from the border with Ukraine, regional authorities said.
The alert lasted for approximately 40 minutes, according to the region’s governor, Ruslan Kukharuk, Caliber.Az reports.
The development comes amid a wider wave of security disruptions across Russia. Overnight, missile alerts were activated in at least 17 regions of the Russian Federation, while aviation authorities imposed temporary restrictions on flight arrivals and departures at 17 airports nationwide.
No details were immediately provided on the cause of the alerts or whether any incoming threats were intercepted.
