Moroccan official says WUF13 strengthens global dialogue on urban development
The World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku is opening new opportunities for continued international dialogue on housing, urban environments and sustainable development, Adib Benbrahim, a senior Moroccan official, has stated at the opening ceremony of the Moroccan pavilion at the Urban Expo held as part of WUF13 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Secretary of State at Morocco’s Ministry of Spatial Planning, Housing and Urban Policy said housing remains a strategic priority for the Kingdom of Morocco, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to him, the country places great importance on improving citizens’ living conditions, developing inclusive urban policies and strengthening territorial resilience.
“In this context, we pay particular attention to dialogue, the exchange of experience and mutual enrichment of approaches, which contributes to the formulation of public policy and better responses to urban challenges,” he noted.
Benbrahim stressed that Morocco’s participation in various sessions of the World Urban Forum reflects the country’s commitment to international cooperation and collective problem-solving.
“Our participation in different editions of the World Urban Forum is proof of our continued commitment to cooperation and collective reflection,” the Moroccan official added.
He made it clear that WUF13 provides a favourable platform for the exchange of practices and the consolidation of results achieved.
“Representatives of Morocco will take part in more than nine sessions of the forum,” he emphasised.
