Moscow accuses US, Japan of preparing for large-scale conflict in Asia-Pacific
The Russian Foreign Ministry has raised serious concerns about the military activities of the United States and Japan, alleging that the two countries are gearing up for a large-scale armed conflict in the Asia-Pacific region.
Deputy Director of the Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department Andrey Nastasin made a statement, emphasizing that these preparations are being justified by supposed threats from Russia, China, and North Korea, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Nastasin highlighted Russia’s vigilant monitoring of recent actions by Washington and Tokyo to strengthen their military and political alliance.
“It seems that both sides, covering themselves with threats allegedly emanating from Korea, China, and Russia, are in full swing preparing for a large-scale armed conflict in the Asia-Pacific region,” Nastasin stated.
The diplomat further asserted that Russia would respond with appropriate countermeasures to Japan's provocative activities near Russian borders, which are being conducted in collaboration with the United States and other countries.
“Appropriate coordination on this issue is being carried out with Chinese and North Korean partners,” he added.
