Moscow claims 21 Ukrainian drones shot down in six hours

Russian air defence forces reportedly destroyed 21 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Moscow time, the Russian Ministry of Defence stated.

The ministry noted that nine of the drones were intercepted over the Belgorod and Volgograd regions, two over Rostov region, and one over Kursk region.

The Russian defence authorities have not provided additional details regarding the type of drones, the circumstances of the interceptions, or whether there were any subsequent retaliatory actions.

This incident comes amid ongoing aerial tensions along the Russia-Ukraine front, with both sides reporting frequent drone and missile activity targeting strategic locations.
