Moscow claims over 8,000 civilians killed since 2022
More than 27,800 civilians have been affected by the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since February 2022, including over 8,000 killed, Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has stated.
At a briefing, he said the total number of civilian casualties from the actions of the armed formations of Kyiv since February 2022 has already reached 27,872 people, of whom more than 8,000 have been killed, more precisely 8,012 people.
The diplomat described the figures as a “terrifying statistic,” adding that they are being ignored and “are being systematically downplayed or distorted by Western countries, including with the help of UN officials.”
He also mentioned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have fired approximately 404,000 munitions at civilian targets in the Russian Federation since February 2022.
