Moscow says Islamic world has always attracted Russia as partner
Islamic countries have always been a focus for Russia as traditional partners, with all of them being friendly, Kirill Sapozhenkov, an official of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has stated at the Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum.
Deputy Director of the Department for Relations with Federal Subjects, Parliament, and Public Associations at the Russian Foreign Ministry said one of the main tasks, both yesterday and today, is the geographical diversification of international contacts to redirect them toward states that pursue a neutral, or even better, friendly policy toward Russia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“Such states today are the countries of the Islamic world. Without exception,” the diplomat said.
According to him, there is not a single Islamic country that Russia classifies as unfriendly.
“The countries of the Islamic world have always attracted Russia as traditional partners, especially since a significant number of Muslims have historically lived in our country,” he added.
