Moscow urges keeping Caspian region out of geopolitical rivalries
It is essential to prevent the Caspian region from being drawn into geopolitical bargaining, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The diplomat noted that shared approaches by Russia and Azerbaijan on security issues contribute significantly to stability in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“Speaking about the Caspian, within the framework of the bilateral working group on the issue of Caspian Sea level decline, experts are carrying out substantive work, and we are focused on preserving the unique diversity of this body of water, avoiding its transformation into a space for geopolitical bargaining by extra-regional powers,” the deputy foreign minister emphasised.
