Official: Georgia plays key role in Azerbaijan–Armenia trade normalisation
Georgia will continue to play an important role in supporting the development of trade relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, according to Levan Jorjoliani, Head of the Georgian Government Administration.
Speaking at a panel session titled “South Caucasus: A Strategic Hub in the Making” at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Jorjoliani said Georgia welcomed progress made by its neighbours towards a peace agreement and the gradual development of economic ties between Baku and Yerevan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He said Georgia had supported these processes and would remain actively engaged in facilitating regional cooperation.
Jorjoliani also stressed the importance of a broader regional framework, suggesting that a trilateral format involving Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia is essential for long-term development and stability in the South Caucasus.
He pointed to a recent meeting in Tbilisi between the deputy foreign ministers of the three countries, where they discussed bilateral and trilateral cooperation across various areas.
According to him, if the South Caucasus states share a common vision of prosperity, stability and peace, the region’s populations will ultimately benefit from greater development and improved living standards.
