Over 17 NATO states participate in military exercises in Australia
A total of 17 countries will take part in the multinational military exercises Pitch Black in Australia’s Northern Territory which started on August 19.
In addition to Australia, NATO countries such as the United States, Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands, and alliance partners South Korea, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates joined these manoeuvres, which take place every two years, South China Morning Post reports.
Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore will also send their servicemen to the exercises.
The manoeuvres will last from August 19 to September 9. A total of 2.5 thousand military personnel and 100 aircraft were involved in the exercises. Germany, Japan and South Korea are taking full part in Pitch Black for the first time.
