Over 400 Armenian trucks await crossing at Russian-Georgian border
The North Ossetian Traffic Management Centre has announced that more than 400 Armenian trucks are currently waiting in an electronic queue to cross the Russian-Georgian border at the "Upper Lars" checkpoint in North Ossetia.
A total of 1,405 trucks have been registered. Some 439 of them are Armenian trucks queued for entry into Georgia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Currently, the movement through the Upper Lars checkpoint remains open for all types of vehicles. On average, around 150 Armenian trucks pass through the Upper Lars checkpoint daily.
The Georgian Military Road, which connects Armenia with Russia via Georgia, remains the only operational land route between the two countries, making this congestion particularly impactful.
