Pakistan, Oman conduct joint naval exercise in Gulf of Oman
Naval vessels from Pakistan and Oman engaged in a joint exercise in the Gulf of Oman.
The exercise featured Pakistan's Corvette Yarmook and Oman's Corvette Al-Seeb, focusing on enhancing operational coordination between the two fleets, Caliber.Az reports via Pakistani media.
The goal was to improve their effectiveness in conducting joint maritime operations in the region.
Earlier, Yarmook also visited Muscat, Oman, where the Commanding Officer called on military leadership of Oman and discussed matters of mutual interest.
The Yarmook, part of the OPV 1900 project, was built by Damen Shipyards in Romania. It has a displacement of 2,300 tonnes, measures 91 meters in length, and 14 meters in width, and has a draft of 4 meters. The vessel can reach speeds of up to 23 knots and accommodates a crew of 138. It is also equipped to carry one medium-lift helicopter.
