Pakistan stands for increased cooperation with Taliban in fight against terrorism

Pakistan is in favour of expanding cooperation with the Afghan Taliban to combat extremism and terrorism more effectively, the country's Army Chief Gen Asim Munir said.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, Anadolu reports.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of mutual interest, including regional security, border management and the formation of bilateral security mechanisms to improve the current security environment.

Both sides stressed the importance of regular contact to strengthen bilateral relations and address common challenges.
