Papuashvili: Sanctions on Russia would harm Georgia, EU
06 May 2026 21:24
Pushing ahead with economic confrontation with Russia, as requested by Brussels, would have devastated Georgia’s own economy and caused significant damage to the European Union, Georgian parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has stated.
He asked rhetorically what kind of gas the EU would receive through Georgia and what transport routes it would have, adding: “Let them think about it,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He said unelected Eurocrats do not act in the interests of EU citizens, “because they do not see beyond their own noses.”
