Pashinyan challenges former Armenian presidents: "Where were your children in 2018?"

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has responded sharply to accusations from former Armenian presidents, once again challenging them to a public debate.

According to Caliber.Az, Pashinyan addressed the matter on his Facebook page, using a pointed tone and abbreviations for the former leaders: LTP (Levon Ter-Petrosyan), SS (Serzh Sargsyan), and RK (Robert Kocharyan).

"LTP, SS and RK constantly claim that I dragged Armenia into the war," Pashinyan wrote, noting that he deliberately uses these abbreviations in a mocking manner. "LTP, SS and RK, if I dragged Armenia into the war, then what was an 18-year-old Armenian soldier doing outside the sovereign territory of Armenia in 2018? And these were not your children or your grandchildren. So why didn't you send your children and grandchildren to the ‘zone of peace’? Answer, LTP, SS and RK. Answer where your children were at that time and what they were doing."

The Prime Minister also referenced a past incident involving Ter-Petrosyan. "LTP, who on March 1, 2008, left Ktrich Nersisyan (Catholicos) at the gate of his house, not letting him through the gate of the compound, is now defending Ktrich Nersisyan. He had better quickly apologise to the great Ktrich for not letting him past the doghouse on March 1, 2008."

Pashinyan concluded by calling out the former presidents and inviting them to a debate. "And also tell us: will you come to the debate or not, ‘strong guys’ – the warrior, the brain and Full House," he wrote, referencing the popular Armenian TV series as a pointed jab.
