Pashinyan’s ally speaks on Russia ties, possible opening of Türkiye border
There are no economic problems between Russia and Armenia, Armenian Parliament Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan has said.
Journalists asked Rubinyan whether it was a coincidence that issues reportedly arose with the Proshyan Cognac Factory and “Jermuk” brand after the Armenian prime minister’s visit to Moscow, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“Why should the price of gas increase? Do you mean that Russia should not fulfil any agreements and should take hostile actions—why? The President of Russia has made no such hints. Such hints come from some political forces in Armenia and media controlled by them,” Rubinyan said at a briefing.
He also addressed the issue of opening the Armenia–Türkiye border.
“The Turkish side has finally begun work this year on restoring the checkpoint, and we are waiting for the implementation of the agreement. In this regard, the ball is not on our side,” he stated.
