27 May 2026 13:27
A passenger plane carrying more than 100 people was forced to turn back mid-flight due to technical issues, authorities said.
According to the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office, the incident took place on the morning of May 27 on a Rossiya Airlines flight travelling from Krasnoyarsk to Tyumen. The aircraft, with 104 passengers on board, reversed course in the air and returned to its departure airport after the crew identified a technical problem.
The plane landed safely at Krasnoyarsk International Airport named after Dmitry Hvorostovsky, with no reported incidents.
Authorities said an inspection is now underway to ensure that passengers’ rights were properly observed during the delay.
