Pentagon reports 89 attacks on US military bases in Iraq, Syria since October 17

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder has said that the number of attacks since October 17 on US military bases in Iraq and Syria has increased to 89.

"Right now, I am tracking a total of, let's see here -- we're tracking approximately 89* attacks at this time [since October 17]," he said, at a regular briefing for journalists, adding that "for the most part they have been unsuccessful," Caliber.Az reports citing the US Department of Defense.

The Pentagon spokesman did not share any further details. Ryder added that the U.S. will do everything possible to protect its military in the Middle East.
