Peskov: No grounds yet for improved Russia-EU relations

There are currently no grounds to expect an improvement in relations between Russia and the European Union, as European countries are mobilising military resources against Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday, August 29.

“Currently, I see no grounds for hoping for an improvement in our relations with Europe. The current politicians, the current generation of politicians in power, are confrontationally minded, not only in words but also in deeds. They are fully mobilising Europe’s military potential and directing it against our country, directly taking part in hostilities against us,” Peskov said.

“We need to recognise this. We certainly need to remain open to building relations, and we genuinely remain open to doing so, but we must have a clear understanding of whom we are dealing with,” he added.
