Peskov: Russia takes US arms supplies to Ukraine into account

Russia is taking into account the continued supply of US weapons to Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

Speaking to Vesti, he described Washington's continued "pumping" of arms into Ukraine as dualism and noted that they should use this wherever it serves Russia’s interests, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

"We should use this dualism in the Trump administration's position wherever it serves our interests," Peskov stressed.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Russia believes the United States, including President Donald Trump, is sincere in its efforts to find a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Ukraine.

"The Americans are sincere, President Trump is sincere, and his negotiators are sincere in their desire to formulate proposals that would be acceptable to everyone. (...) The Americans were unable to persuade the Ukrainians because they could not sway them, as they were encouraged by the Europeans. (...) The proposal that was put forward was accepted by us, but not by the Ukrainians," Peskov remarked.

He added that Moscow would await further proposals from Washington, arguing that the U.S. administration's desire to facilitate a peaceful settlement "fully corresponds to Russia's interests."

"We are continuing our special military operation. We will continue pursuing our objectives by military means. Yes, this is not the preferred path, but in the absence of prospects for peace, we will go all the way to complete victory," Peskov emphasised.
