Peskov says VPN use not banned in Russia, denies knowledge of ban plans

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated that the use of VPN services is currently not prohibited in Russia.

Commenting on reports about potential plans to ban services that bypass internet restrictions in Russia, Peskov said he does not have information to the contrary, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Earlier, it emerged that telecom operators had begun warning users when VPN services are enabled.

When accessing certain applications, such as Yandex services, users are asked to disable VPNs.
