PM: Hungary losing over $10 billion per year due to EU sanctions against Russia
27 January 2023 13:46
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that Hungary is losing about 10 billion euros ($10.8 billion) a year due to EU sanctions against Russia.
“As a result of the sanctions, Hungary will lose 3.764 billion forints [about 10 billion euros] as a result of failed economic growth,” he told Kossuth Rádió.
Orban noted that this amount is almost equal to the total personal income tax that all Hungarians pay.
The prime minister added that the Hungarian government is still in favour of revising the sanctions.
