Poland receives record $10 billion from EU for economic development
Poland has received an additional PLN 40 billion (approximately $10 billion) from the European Union under the National Recovery Plan (KPO), the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy announced.
This latest tranche, which marks the second and third payment applications for the KPO, brings Poland's total funding to PLN 67 billion (about €16 billion), aimed at supporting the country’s economic growth in the coming years, Caliber.Az reports citing Polish media.
The Ministry confirmed that, as promised by Minister Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz, the funds were allocated ahead of Christmas. These funds will be utilized for a variety of strategic purposes, including improving the energy efficiency of residential buildings, ensuring safe and reliable transportation, advancing cyber infrastructure for education, exploring new energy sources to enhance energy security, and modernizing the national energy grid.
The Ministry further stated that Poland intends to apply for additional payments from the EU recovery fund by the end of the year.
