Poland says it has provided Ukraine with $4.5 billion in military aid since 2022
Poland has provided Ukraine with weapons and military equipment worth 16.4 billion zlotys (about $4.5 billion) since February 2022, Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said.
According to the minister, military assistance worth 14.9 billion zlotys (about $4.1 billion) was delivered in 2022 and 2023 under the previous government led by the Law and Justice party. He said the current government has supplied an additional 1.5 billion zlotys in military aid to Kyiv,. Russian media reports.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also confirmed that Poland had transferred missiles for Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine.
"At the suggestion and request of the Secretary General of the alliance and the U.S. European Command, following consultations with the group of users [of the Patriot systems], a decision was made to transfer Patriot missiles [to Kyiv]. The quantity transferred does not exceed the limits of our capabilities and does not affect Poland’s air defence potential," he said.
The minister said he had decided to declassify information on Poland's military aid to Ukraine after opposition politicians and representatives of the administration of Polish President Karol Nawrocki accused the government of transferring Patriot missiles to Kyiv.
