Political analyst: Armenia forces Azerbaijan to solve problems militarily

Armenian political analyst Harutyun Mkrtchyan has said that Armenia and the Armenian Armed Forces do not need a military solution to the problem at the moment.

“First of all, I would like to inform our compatriots about this process. Dear compatriots, I will express my opinion and call the process itself a unilateral concession. From a territorial point of view, it is a unilateral concession. The Armenian side cedes territories belonging to Azerbaijan, but Azerbaijan does not cede territory to the Armenian side,” Mkrtchyan said in an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

“However, a cornerstone agreement was reached between the sides. The matter rests in another reference to the Almaty Declaration. Let all church servants answer such a question. What are they fighting against? Are they fighting for Armenia not to have a border? It turns out that it is so,” he stressed.

“If we do not delimitate and demarcate the Azerbaijani border, then this region will constantly live under the threat of war and there will be nothing good to the Armenian citizens. The alternative to demarcation is quite concrete – a war. Let's call it terror of our own people, let's call it intimidation or cowardly politics, but this is the reality. If you don't want demarcation, you want a war. If you do not want to hand over the territories belonging to Azerbaijan, of course, demanding that everything Azerbaijani is Armenian, then at a minimum you are not participating constructively in the negotiations and giving the Azerbaijani side the legal right to solve problems militarily.
