Politico: Armenia may become the next Moldova

The European Union is reportedly considering Armenia as a potential candidate for EU membership, according to Politico.

“Maybe Armenia can become the next Moldova,” a European official said, referring to Moldova’s status as an EU associated member and the negotiations launched last year for the country’s full accession to the bloc.

The article notes that both Yerevan and Baku have recently stepped up their engagement with Brussels. The EU views relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan as key to fostering constructive regional cooperation and strengthening ties with Türkiye.
