Power substation catches fire in Cheboksary, Russia

An accident occurred at an electrical substation, sparking a fire in Cheboksary, Russia, with some homes and traffic lights in the city being left without electricity.

Witnesses confirmed that they saw black smoke, Caliber.Az reports, citing ASTRA.

Mayor Sergey Trofimov noted that currently, authorised emergency services are working to deal with the consequences of the emergency at the electrical substation on Ivan Yakovlev Avenue.

“Emergency crews are currently working to switch the power supply networks to backup lines,” he added.
