President Erdogan: Even Türkiye's most ardent enemies can no longer ignore it

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has attended the 10th World Turkish Business Council Congress at the Halic Congress Centre.

“When communication opportunities have expanded, it has become easier to strengthen ties between the homeland and the diaspora during this period than before,” President Erdogan told the event participants, according to Anadolu.

President Erdogan called for unity and cohesion.

“If we leave the area empty, we will inevitably be besieged by various foul organisations – beginning from terrorist organisations, ending with guardianship forces, missionaries. It will be too late when those who see our calls for unity as mere political rhetoric realise the mistake they have made,” he added.

The president noted that Türkiye is going through a period when we are step by step leaving behind the problems that have arisen in the Turkish economy due to global economic fluctuations.

“Even Türkiye’s most ardent enemies can no longer ignore our country and cannot succeed in their attempts to ruin our economy,” the Turkish leader added.

He added that the number of people of Turkish origin living, working and studying in other countries, which makes up the Turkish diaspora, reaches eight million people.

“Our diaspora should include citizens of member and observer states of the Organisation of Turkic States - Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Turkmenistan and Hungary. Then we will see a complete and meaningful situation. We also must not forget our compatriots living in Western Thrace, the Balkans and other fraternal communities in the Caucasus, representatives of the Islamic world and their diaspora,” President Erdogan said.
