Putin attends farewell ceremony for Supreme Court chief

Russian President Vladimir Putin personally attended the farewell ceremony for Irina Podnosova, Chairwoman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, who passed away at the age of 72.

The mourning ceremony took place on July 24 at the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow, Caliber.Az reports per TASS.

Podnosova had served as head of the Supreme Court since April 2024, succeeding long-time chairman Vyacheslav Lebedev following his death. Her tenure lasted just over a year.

Podnosova studied law degree at Leningrad State University—now Saint Petersburg State University— at the same time as Putin.
