Putin dismisses Vitaly Savelyev as Russian deputy prime minister PHOTO

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Vitaly Savelyev from his post as deputy prime minister following his election as a State Duma deputy, TASS reports.

Savelyev was included in United Russia’s federal candidate list for the September 2026 State Duma elections, representing the Moscow Region. He had not participated in United Russia’s preliminary vote, with his candidacy instead being added to the party’s federal list ahead of the parliamentary campaign.

The September 18-20 election resulted in United Russia securing 349 of the State Duma’s 450 seats, according to Russia’s Central Election Commission, placing Savelyev among the newly elected lawmakers.
