Putin replaces Dagestan head in leadership reshuffle

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree dismissing the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, and appointing Fyodor Shchukin as his replacement.

Shchukin previously served as chairman of Dagestan’s Supreme Court and is now tasked with leading the region, according to an official statement published on Russia’s legal information portal.
