Putin thanks Trump for teaching Zelensky “a lesson”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked US President Donald Trump for what he called a “lesson” given to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), he said everyone saw how “Donald [Trump] gave Zelensky a lesson,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Putin thanked him for this, but noted that “there is still more to be done.”

He added that he respects Trump and praised the good relations between them.

The Russian president further stressed that he sees no point in a personal meeting with Zelensky at this stage.
