Qatari foreign minister to visit Tehran for talks on regional issues
Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani is set to travel to Tehran in the coming days to engage in discussions with Iranian officials. His visit will focus on bilateral relations and critical regional issues, including talks with Iran's new Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi.
This diplomatic engagement follows a recent phone conversation between Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani and Al Thani, where they discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. Both sides emphasized the importance of reducing tensions and restoring peace to the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Doha’s foreign ministry highlighted Qatar's commitment to supporting regional and international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability. This diplomatic activity coincides with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Qatar, part of his West Asia tour, purportedly to advance negotiations to end the 10-month-old Gaza war.
