Race spokesman: Events in Baku to spark interest of F1 fans and officials
The events to be held in Baku will get the fans as well as F1 officials interested, the press secretary of the Baku City Circuit operating company, Turab Teymurov, told Report.
He noted that this year the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan will be full of innovations: "Before the Grand Prix we said that a record number of fans will come to the country. Yesterday we saw more tourists in the pit lane than in previous years. Formula 1 races are very important in terms of economic benefits, promotion, and branding of the country. I think the most interesting competition of the season will be held in Baku, and there are several reasons for that. So, the first sprint event of the season in a new format will be held in our capital. This event is interesting not only for fans but also for Formula 1 officials and the International Automobile Federation".
The head of the Red Bull team Christian Horner said that the competition in the sprint is risky for the cars, but it will be a grand show for spectators.
"We agree with that. The fans are in for a truly exciting show. The entertainment zone will also be different from previous years. An entertainment zone for children and a national corner have been opened," Teymurov said.
He added that a new category of tickets for Friday and Saturday's concerts has been put on sale due to the requests of the audience.
