Reports point to drone attack on Lukoil refinery in Russia's Volgograd photo / video
Late on the night of February 11, images and videos showing a fire at an oil refinery in Volgograd began spreading widely across online platforms.
Monitoring channels reported that unidentified drones had struck a key industrial infrastructure site, as per Ukrainian media.
Subsequent posts on public social media pages suggested that the facility targeted was most likely a refinery operated by Lukoil. If confirmed, this would mark the first drone attack on the site in 2026.
At the time of publication, Russian authorities had issued no official statements regarding the incident.
The refinery has been targeted multiple times in the past. Previous drone attacks were reported in February 2024, January 2025, again in late January 2025, as well as in February and March, on August 14 and 16, and in November 2025.
