Restoration of Azerbaijan’s Zangazur corridor to expand Eurasia’s transport network PHOTO
First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, Lieutenant-General of the Customs Service Ismayil Huseynov has said that the restoration of the Zangazur corridor will contribute to the expansion of the Eurasian transport network, strengthening the transit potential of Turkic countries.
Huseynov made the remarks at the eighth meeting of the heads of customs services of the Organisation of Turkic States in the capital of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek, according to Report.
He noted that the agreement on the creation of a simplified customs corridor among the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States will help improve the efficiency of transportation, optimise border control of goods, and develop the transport and logistics system, which will create prerequisites for increasing trade turnover among the countries.
The 11th meeting of the working group on customs cooperation of the organisation was held the day before the event.
The issues related to the upcoming work on the Silk Road initiative and the Caravanserai Project, the implementation of decisions taken at previous meetings, the promotion of authorised economic operator systems, etc. were discussed at the meeting of the working group.
