UN projects steady 3% GDP growth for Azerbaijan in 2025-2026
The United Nations has forecasted an annual GDP growth rate of 3% for Azerbaijan in 2025.
This prediction, outlined in the UN’s recently published "World Economic Situation and Prospects 2025" report, highlights the positive trajectory of Azerbaijan's economy, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"Economic growth in Azerbaijan accelerated in 2024, driven by stronger domestic demand and the expansion of the non-oil sector. The rising global demand for Azerbaijani natural gas is expected to sustain GDP growth in 2025," the report states.
The UN also projects a similar GDP growth rate of 3% for Azerbaijan in 2026.
The UN's estimates indicate that Azerbaijan’s GDP grew by 4.6% in 2024, following a modest 1.1% increase in 2023.
However, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan forecasts a slightly higher GDP growth of 3.5% for 2025, with a decrease to 2.8% in 2026.
