Roads via Armenia should connect Azerbaijan with Türkiye Armenian human rights activist says
Armenian human rights activist Vardan Harutyunyan has said that only Armenia will suffer by rejecting the connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
He made the remarks on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
“I have written a thousand times, and I will write a thousand more times, the only resource of Armenia is to become a bridge; many and varied roads must pass through our territory. Naturally, they should belong to Armenia. They must connect Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan and Türkiye, Iran, the Black Sea and even more distant countries. We should not be afraid and open up to the world. If we refuse to provide roads, we will become an enclave, we will have no value.
By rejecting the connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, only we will suffer. There will always be alternatives. The way Baku-Ceyhan bypassed us in the early 2000s, so will the other communications be bypassed,” wrote Harutyunyan.
