Rosneft’s Komsomolsk Oil Refinery in Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai is on fire, with the cause still unknown.
Residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur said the fire started at around 11 a.m. local time on August 11, Caliber.Az reports, citing ASTRA.
ASTRA analysed footage from the scene and confirmed that the facility on fire is Rosneft’s RN-Komsomolsk Refinery.
According to the company’s website, the refinery was commissioned in 1942 and has a designed capacity of around 8 million tonnes of crude oil per year.
It produces K5-standard motor gasoline and diesel fuel, marine fuel and other petroleum products, and is one of the key suppliers of petroleum products to Russia’s Far East.
