Russia accuses Estonia of complicity in drone attack on St. Petersburg
01 July 2026 16:05
Russia has accused Estonia of being complicit in what it described as a terrorist attack after Ukrainian drones targeted the city of St. Petersburg.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova made the allegation in comments to the state-run TASS news agency, responding to remarks attributed to Madis Roll, Estonia's national security adviser to the president, regarding Estonia's support for Ukraine.
Zakharova accused Estonia's leadership of aiding the attack.
"This is not the first time Estonia's political elite has supported terrorists. In the 1990s, Estonia showed solidarity in every way possible with the terrorist Dudaev and his thugs in the North Caucasus," she said.
