Russia accuses US of prolonging war with continued weapons shipments to Kyiv

14 July 2025 15:01

The Russian government has accused the United States of maintaining a steady flow of military aid to Ukraine, despite public debate over the cost of such support.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Washington’s deliveries of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment to Kyiv had neither ceased nor diminished, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Speaking to reporters, Peskov commented on recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, who stated that the US would provide Ukraine with weapons, including Patriot missile systems, with funding expected to come from the European Union.

“There’s been much talk about how expensive these supplies are,” Peskov said. “Now it appears that Europe will foot the bill—partially or entirely—but the fact remains: US arms deliveries to Ukraine have continued and are ongoing.”

Peskov also reiterated Russia’s willingness to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine, saying Moscow was awaiting a response regarding the timing of a potential third round of talks.

“Kiev is clearly in no hurry,” he said. “We are still waiting for proposed dates. Russia remains ready to move forward and hold a third round.”

In a separate development, Peskov warned of growing tensions in the Baltic region, blaming what he described as the “aggressive policies” of neighbouring European states. His comments followed reports of live-fire military exercises conducted by Estonia in the Baltic Sea.

“Due to the extremely aggressive stance of coastal European nations, the Baltic has become a zone of heightened tension,” Peskov said, when asked if the Kremlin viewed Estonia’s actions as a provocation.

Despite rising regional tensions, Peskov stressed that Russia would continue to defend its interests in the Baltic, regardless of what he called “provocative actions” from other countries.
