Russia: Air defences down 99 drones overnight across multiple regions
Russia’s defence ministry said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 99 drones over the country between 20:00 Moscow time on April 10 and 07:00 on April 11, according to Russian media reports.
The ministry said the unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over several regions, including Krasnodar Krai, as well as the Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga and Kursk regions, Caliber.Az reports.
Drones were also intercepted over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. Officials did not provide a breakdown of how many drones were downed in each area.
The governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, said more than 10 drones were destroyed across six districts. Air raid sirens were reported in the cities of Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik.
Additional restrictions were imposed on arrivals and departures at airports in Krasnodar and Gelendzhik during the incident, authorities said.
