Russia announces new prisoner exchange with Ukraine
Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova has announced a new prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine.
She said the date of the exchange is being withheld to avoid jeopardising the process, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"We are preparing the next exchange. We are not announcing the date yet so as not to disrupt the process. <...> I hope that one of the upcoming exchanges will also include the category of wounded personnel—our wounded servicemen who are being held there. We have already discussed this issue, and I hope it will be included in this exchange," she told reporters on the sidelines of a forum in Senezh.
Lantratova noted that negotiations are underway on two categories of people: prisoners of war and civilians who remain in Ukraine and are unable to reunite with their families or return home.
"Separate negotiations are being conducted for each list, and I hope we will be able to complete this stage very soon. Our goal is to bring all our people home," she added.
