Russia bans individuals from taking large amounts of cash to Azerbaijan PHOTO

Russia has banned individuals from taking more than 1 million rubles ($11,800) in cash out of the country to the Eurasian Economic Union, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, with certain exceptions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree introducing the restriction. Any cash exceeding the permitted limit will be confiscated if the ban is violated.

Previously, the limit for individuals in Russia was the equivalent of $100,000, while the restrictions did not apply to Azerbaijan, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan.
