Russia damages energy facilities across Kyiv and five regions
Russia has damaged energy infrastructure in Kyiv and five other regions, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported on its Telegram channel.
The affected areas include Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. As a result of the attacks, power outages have left 40,000 subscribers in Kyiv, 21,000 in Dnipropetrovsk, 20,000 in Odesa, 13,000 in Chernihiv, and 8,000 in Kharkiv without electricity.
To stabilise the power grid in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions, emergency power cuts have been introduced. In Kyiv, these measures are being implemented under the order of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration’s Telegram channel.
Officials have emphasised that during emergency power cuts, published schedules may not apply. Residents are urged to use electricity wisely and minimise the use of energy-intensive appliances. Specialists are working around the clock to restore a full power supply to all homes.
