Russia describes US-Iran truce as defeat for aggressive attack strategy

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the US-Iran ceasefire as a defeat for the approach of aggressive, unprovoked attacks, speaking on Radio Sputnik.

Zakharova stated that all claims advocating for greater aggression, more offensive actions, increased social media activity, and the notion that “victory” is imminent had suffered a crushing defeat, according to Russian media.

The diplomat emphasised that Moscow supported the resolution of the Middle East conflict in accordance with international law and national interests, adding that Russia acted with humanitarian goals in mind.
