Russia downs 20 Ukrainian drones in overnight operation
Russian air defence systems shot down twenty Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the airplane type on the night of June 23 to June 24, according to a statement issued by Russia’s Defence Ministry.
According to the ministry, fourteen of the drones were shot down over the Kursk Region, Caliber.Az reports.
Two drones were intercepted over the Moscow Region, while one drone each was destroyed over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Oryol, and Smolensk.
Moreover, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Moscow time on June 23, air defence forces shot down nine Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, five of them were shot over the territory of Kursk Region and four over Bryansk Region.
The ministry has not reported any casualties or damage resulting from the attempted drone incursions.
