Russia downs 289 Ukrainian drones in overnight air defence blitz

Russian air defence forces have destroyed 289 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.

According to the ministry, the attacks were repelled between 20:00 Moscow time on May 4 and 07:00 on May 5.

The drones were intercepted over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Kaluga, Smolensk, Oryol, Tver, Tula, Ryazan, Pskov, Leningrad, Novgorod, Rostov, and Volgograd regions, as well as on approaches to Moscow, over Crimea and Tatarstan, and in the Krasnodar region.

Additional Ukrainian drones were also shot down over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
