Russia enforces temporary shutdown at four regional airports

Four airports in Russia have temporarily halted the arrival and departure of flights, the country's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) announced.

The restrictions affect airports in Nizhnekamsk, Kazan, Bugulma, and Cheboksary.

“Temporary restrictions have been introduced on the acceptance and release of aircraft,” the agency said in a statement published at 06:25 Moscow time.

Rosaviatsiya clarified that the measures were taken to ensure flight safety.
